  4.                        Installation of Macros
  5.  
  6.  
  7.  I. AmiPro 3.0 for Windows:
  8.  
  9.    This process will install an icon for DESCRIBE IT in the AmiPro for
  10.    Windows tool bar and attach a macro to that icon, so that when clicked
  11.    DESCRIBE IT will be launched or restored from a minimized state.
  12.  
  13. 1. Copy the file in your Dscribit directory, "dscribit.smm" to the AmiPro
  14.    subdirectory where Macros are located usually "X":\Amipro\Macros.
  15. 2. Copy the file "dscrbami.bmp" to the AmiPro Subdirectory where icons
  16.    are located, usually "X"\Amipro\Icons.
  17. 3. Start Amipro.
  18.  
  19.  Setting up the Icon: 
  20.  
  21. 4. From the main menus select "Tools", then choose the "Smarticons" 
  22.    submenu.
  23.   Smarticons Dialog Box:
  24.   a. The last icon displayed in the "Available Icons" list box should be
  25.      a two headed llama, a pushmepullyou.
  26.   b. From the icons displayed in the "Default" list box or an icon group
  27.      of your choice, pick an icon you want DESCRIBE IT to replace. If
  28.      the one you picked is too far down the list it may not be displayed
  29.      in the tool bar.
  30.   c. Click on the DESCRIBE IT icon in the "Available Icons" list box.
  31.      Holding the mouse button down, drag the icon to the one you want to
  32.      replace and release the button.
  33.   d. Click the "Edit Icon" Button.
  34.   
  35. Edit SmartIcon Dialog Box:
  36.   e. From the "_Macros List box:" select dscribit.smm. This will put 
  37.      "dscribit.smm in the "_Run macro:" edit box.
  38.   f. Type a description of the program in the "_Description:" edit box.
  39.      Example "Describe It".
  40.   g. Click the OK button.

  42.  Setting up the Macro:

  44. 5. From the "Tools" main menu select the "Macros" submenu.
  45. 6. From the "Macros" submenu choose "Edit".
  46.  
  47.  Edit Macro Dialog Box:
  48. 8. In the "_Macros:" list box find "dscribit.smm" and click on it.
  49.   a. If you want to set a shortcut key combination, type one
  50.      in the "_Playback shortcut keys: edit box."
  51.      Example:  SHIFT+CTRL+D 
  52.      Click the "Save" button.
  53.   b. Click the "OK" button.
  54.  
  55.  Adapting the macro to your configuration:
  56. 9. If you DID NOT put DESCRIBE IT and its files into the directory 
  57.    c:\dscribit the text of the dscribit.smm macro will have to be changed.
  58.   a.The seventh line in the macro will read:
  59.            Exec("C:\DSCRIBIT\DSCRIBIT.EXE",1)
  60.     In AmiPro open the macro file "dscribit.smm" and change the drive
  61.     letter "C:" and the directory "\DSCRIBIT\" to the letter of the drive 
  62.     and the name of the directory where you installed the files of 
  63.     DESCRIBE IT.
  64.   b.Save the Macro by choosing "Save" from the File menu.
  65.   c.Choose "Close" from the File menu.
  66.  
  67. You're done.

  69. You can put the icon in multiple tool bars by repeating the 
  70. process.

  73.  II.Word Perfect 5.2 for windows:
  74.  
  75.     This process will install a button on the button bar of your choice
  76.     and attach a macro to it so that when the button is clicked DESCRIBE
  77.     IT will open. If minimized DESCRIBE IT will not be restored. As of 
  78.     now I don't know how to do this.
  79.  
  80. NOTE:
  81.      If you installed DESCRIBE IT in a directory other than c:\dscribit,
  82.      you will have to change the macro. Edit the macro by opening
  83.      "dscribit.wcm" in word perfect and change the third line that reads
  84.      {"c:\dscribit\dscribit.exe"; Loword(1)}) to reflect the current 
  85.      location of dscribit.exe.Leave everything else the same.
  86.       
  87. 1. Copy the file in your dscribit directory named "dscribit.wcm" to the
  88.    directory where Word Prefect stores its macros. This is usually 
  89.    c:\wpwin\macros.
  90. 2. From Word Perfect's main menu select "View". Choose the "Button Bar 
  91.    Setup" submenu and then the "Edit" submenu.
  92. 3. The "Edit Button Bar" dialog box appears.
  93.     a. Click on the "Assign Macro to Button" Button.
  94.     b. In the "Files:" list box find "dscribit.wcm" and click on it.
  95.        Dscribit.wcm should appear in the "FileName:" edit box.
  96.     c. Click on the "Assign Button" which will close the dialog box.
  97.     d. In the "Edit Button Bar" dialog box click the "OK" button.

  99.     The button installed on the button bar is the same as if you had
  100.     used the Word Perfect macro "gotodos.wcm" macro with the title in
  101.     the button "Dscribit".
  102.  
  103.   You're done.

  105.   Microsoft Word for Windows 2.0
  106.  
  107.   It is possible to write a macro to execute DESCRIBE IT from inside
  108. Word for Windows. I don't have a copy of Word, so I didn't write
  109. a macro. I believe you can attach the macro to a tool in the tool bar.
